We have dedicated an area to primitive navigation, where you will come across replicas of reed vessels used by Thor Heyerdahl. These replicas were constructed in 2007 with totora (typical reed plants from Lake Titicaca, Bolivia). Maps and explanations of his various transoceanic expeditions can also be seen including replicas of the Kon Tiki raft, with which Heyerdahl crossed the Pacific Ocean, the RA I and Ra II (Atlantic Ocean) and the Tigris (Indian Ocean).

We have included a life size replica of the Ra II, built within our premises by the same Aymara natives from Lake Titicaca who helped Heyerdahl build the original Ra II. A full video explaining the building process completes the exhibition.
