The Ethnographic Park "Pirámides de Güímar" is step pyramid complex, oriented astronomically to the summer and winter solstices, and hence of a great cultural, historical and archaeoastronomical value. Within its premises we will discover six stepped pyramids, showing great resemblance to those found in Egypt, Mesopotamia, Sardinia, Sicily, South America and other parts of the world.

In its exclusive auditorium, the world famous anthropologist Thor Heyerdahl describes in a documentary his views and ideas regarding this pyramid site, as well as proposing the possibility of human migrations in ancient times and illustrating his transoceanic expeditions.

The park also includes an outstanding museum, housing statues, ceramics, photographs, models and other items that suggest cultural parallelisms between the old and new worlds. It also includes information about the global distribution of step pyramids, the use of reed boats for navigation, constructive details of the pyramids at Güímar and the results of the excavation campaigns undertaken at the Park.

The primitive navigation area is dedicated to how navigation in ancient times was undertaken, holding small scale replicas of reed boats used by Dr. Heyerdahl himself in his extraordinary expeditions across the oceans, and a life size replica of the "Ra II". Visitors can also wander around the large gardens of autochthonous canarian flora.
